Known as one of the coolest and most vibrant districts in the Miami Area, South Beach offers much more than just amazing nightlife and the great oceanfront beaches. The Jewish Museum of Florida presents the history of Jewish life in Florida since early colonial times. Housed in an original Art Deco style 1936 building, the Jewish Museum at South Beach has a collection of more than 100,000 items related to American and even worldwide Jewry. Additionally, the Jewish Museum has also expanded by purchasing a nearby building that served as the first Synagogue in the city of Miami Beach. After exploring the Jewish Museum of Florida, tourists can make a smooth transition to the Holocaust Memorial of the Greater Miami Jewish Foundation. Located at the corner of Dade Blvd and Meridian Avenue, the Holocaust Memorial shares the grounds of the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. The Wolfsonian-Florida International University is a museum and research center that features presentations and research resources about art and design. With a collection of more than 120,000 objects, the Wolfsonian-FIU welcomes visitors who'd like to explore the influences behind 20th and 21st century design concepts. Located between Park Avenue and Collins Avenue, The Bass Museum is the premier art museum in Miami Beach. Ongoing exhibitions at the Bass Museum cover art eras ranging from the Renaissance to the modern style. Additionally, the museum's Egyptian Gallery offers a unique glimpse into the lives of the ancient Egyptian civilization.

The World Erotic Art Museum in South Beach offers rare works of fine art such as paintings and sculptures with erotic themes. The unique museum even has collections of artwork by European masters from several eras including the Baroque and cubist periods.

Perhaps the most prominent attraction in South Beach is the Miami Beach Convention Center, which is actually located across the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. The convention center hosts major shows, exhibitions, and conferences in several halls that can each accommodate thousands of people. Located on the same grounds of the Miami Beach Convention Center is the Filmore Miami Beach At The Jackie Gleason Theater. The historic auditorium hosts regular shows and other exciting performances in a venue that is named after a great American entertainer.
